Updates Hub

This updates hub tracks Shadow Dungeon’s live version, the 1.0 full-release package that shipped on August 26, 2026, and the day-one follow-up patch. Developer OO Cat publishes notes on Steam. Official social channels are YouTube and X. For store links and the demo, see the Links Hub.

Current version: 1.0.1 (August 27, 2026)

Shadow Dungeon launched as version 1.0 on August 26, 2026. As of August 27, 2026 the live client is 1.0.1. That patch is a bug-fix and platform pass, not a content drop. Full notes live on the Patch 1.0.1 page. In short, 1.0.1:

  • Added more screen resolutions
  • Fixed controller recognition and frame drops while using a controller
  • Fixed transformation skill point allocation
  • Fixed experience not being obtainable in some cases
  • Increased Treasure Sprite (fairy) movement speed and fixed auto-salvage
  • Fixed monster element type display and health UI values
  • Fixed pinnacle talents not clearing correctly after a respec
  • Fixed the one-click backpack sorting hotkey not taking effect

If you are on 1.0 and Steam has not updated you yet, verify the client version in the store overlay and restart Steam.

Version 1.0 — full release (August 26, 2026)

The Full Release page covers the 1.0 package in more depth. Launch content is the complete base game OO Cat announced in the “Complete Official Version Content” Steam news post, including:

  • Four playable classes: Sorcerer, Holy Warrior, Archer, Necromancer
  • Twelve talent trees (three per class) and more than 370 skills
  • Seven story chapters with over 160 maps and stages
  • Campaign length of about 30–50 hours, tuned so you finish near level 99–100
  • Monster levels and item drops tied to the map, not the player level
  • Greater Rifts after the main story: Normal, Master, Nightmare, and Inferno
  • Rift-exclusive runes and enhancement items (talent skill runes, equipment skill runes, attribute runes, and related stones)
  • Fifteen armor sets per class
  • Treasure Sprites for pickup, salvage, and wall-passing retrieval
  • Level cap 100, then Paragon levels and the Paragon Talent Tree
  • Mouse movement, controller auto-target and auto-attack, L1/R1 interface paging, one-button buff potions, and a customizable cursor
  • Particle count reduced by about 60% with roughly 40% better frame rates, plus Steam Deck-specific button layouts
  • A DPS Tester that can hit the player so counterattack skills can be measured

There is no seasonal reset and no microtransaction shop. All loot is earned in play. The game is single-player only — no co-op, no premium XP subscription.

What 1.0.1 did not change

1.0.1 did not add a fifth Greater Rift difficulty, new classes, or paid DLC. Campaign length, map-tied drops, Treasure Sprites, and Paragon remain as 1.0 described them. Treat Steam Community bug threads as player reports until they appear in official notes.

Announced roadmap (no dates)

OO Cat has listed planned future content on the Steam store. No release dates have been announced. Treat the list as intent, not a calendar:

  • Four new classes: Assassin, Engineer, Barbarian, Warlock
  • Mercenary system
  • Tower Defense challenges
  • Rune system (1.0 already ships a large rune pool; the store still lists further rune work)
  • Transmutation and Crafting system

When dates or patch notes appear, they will be added here and on child pages. Do not assume a 2026 quarter or a paid expansion — the store presents these as future game content, not a cash shop. Full write-up: Roadmap. Demo-era history: Update 0.4.0.

How to stay current

  1. Read Patch 1.0.1 after every Steam update.
  2. Use Full Release as the 1.0 feature checklist.
  3. Follow YouTube and X for developer clips and posts.
  4. Check the Steam store page and Steam news for official notes.

Gameplay systems that change with patches are documented elsewhere on this wiki: Combat for input feel, Leveling for map-tied XP, and Greater Rifts for the post-story loop.
