Shadow Dungeon Walkthrough
Campaign, bosses, Mystic Dungeon Challenges, and Greater Rifts after the story.
This walkthrough hub covers Shadow Dungeon’s single-player campaign and the endgame OO Cat documented for version 1.0 (August 26, 2026), with live clients on 1.0.1 as of August 27. The story is seven chapters and over 160 maps. Official length is about 30–50 hours, tuned so you reach roughly level 99–100 at the credits. After that: Paragon and Greater Rifts.
There is no co-op. All maps, bosses, and rifts are solo. Monster levels and drops follow the map, not your character level — see the Leveling Guide.
Story overview
You pick one of four classes and walk a gothic route toward the Demon Lord. Official environments, in order of the store description, are:
- Eerie and terrifying dungeons
- Solemn ancient temples
- Scorching deserts
- Haunted ruins filled with restless spirits
- Distant realms beyond reality
- The depths of hell
- The Demon Lord beneath the abyss
This hub will not invent chapter subtitles or unofficial boss names. Use the Chapter Walkthrough for biome-by-biome routing and the Boss Strategies page for general telegraph advice (60-plus bosses, 200-plus monster types in store copy).
Walkthrough pages
Chapter guide
The Chapter Walkthrough follows the official biomes, explains map-tied difficulty, and points you at finishing near 99–100. It does not list fake farm arenas.
Boss strategies
Boss Strategies covers how to read telegraphs and phase changes without a catalog of invented guardian names. Pair it with Combat.
Mystic Dungeon
The store lists Mystic Dungeon Challenges. The Mystic Dungeon Guide explains that name and why this wiki will not invent five difficulty tiers or fake modifiers.
Greater Rifts
Greater Rifts is the 1.0 post-story loop: Normal, Master, Nightmare, Inferno. Higher difficulties improve rare odds and weapon affix rolls. Rift runes live here.
Endgame
The Endgame Guide orders story finish, Paragon, Greater Rifts, Mystic Dungeon, and the collector stash loop with no seasons.
Before you start
- Try the free demo if you have not bought the game (Demo and Requirements).
- Read Getting Started for class choice (no class change after creation).
- Learn 1.0 input: mouse movement, controller auto-target, Steam Deck skill-point buttons (Controls).
- Know the price and patch state on the Updates Hub and Review if you are still deciding ($8.99 intro off $9.99 through September 9, 2026).
Philosophy
These guides teach the published systems — map-tied loot, Greater Rift difficulties, Treasure Sprites, Paragon — so you can adapt when 1.0.1-style hotfixes land. They will not invent keybind tables or chapter novels. When Steam news adds a named mechanic, the child pages will quote it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about Shadow Dungeon.
How long does it take to complete Shadow Dungeon's main story?
Official 1.0 notes put the campaign at about 30–50 hours, with the level curve aimed at 99–100 as you finish. Greater Rifts and Paragon extend play after the Demon Lord. Completionist time is not a published number.
Do I need to complete chapters in order or can I explore freely?
The seven-chapter story is a campaign sequence. Within maps you can explore. Because monster level follows the map, skipping ahead does not work like a typical overlevel trick. Return to maps to finish secrets; drops still match that map.
What level should I be before attempting each chapter?
OO Cat did not publish per-chapter level gates. The design target is finishing the story near 99–100. Use map-appropriate gear and the Combat guide rather than an invented level chart.
Can I change my build between chapters?
You cannot change class after creation. You can invest and respec talents (1.0.1 fixed pinnacle talents not clearing after respec). Unlimited skill points in 1.0 means trees can be filled over a long campaign. Paragon is after 100.
Are there multiple endings in Shadow Dungeon?
Official copy focuses on defeating the Demon Lord, then Greater Rifts. This wiki does not claim branching endings unless OO Cat publishes them.
