Shadow Dungeon Necromancer

Summon demons and skeletons. Three class trees, then Paragon after 100.

Necromancer Build Guide

The Necromancer is Shadow Dungeon’s summoner. Official Steam copy: summon demons and skeletons. Version 1.0 (August 26, 2026) ships four classes, twelve talent trees, and more than 370 skills. Each class has exactly three trees. This page will not invent tree brand names (no Dominion, Curse, Presence) or skill product names (no Raise Dead, Demon Call, Enfeeble, Aura of Decay). Watch OO Cat’s Necromancer gameplay and skill tree showcase and read in-game node text.

You cannot change class after creation. The game is single-player with no microtransactions. Live patch 1.0.1 (August 27, 2026) listed sprite, XP, controller, UI, transformation-skill, and respec fixes. It did not publish a minion-pathing manifesto. Do not treat a fan AI complaint as a patch note.

How the class is meant to play

Demons and skeletons shift some of the front line onto summons while you stay alive. You still die if you stand in telegraphs. Version 1.0 added mouse movement, controller automatic target acquisition and automatic attacks, and per-skill intelligent targeting. Those tools help you aim curses, auras, or recasts without fighting the camera. Pair this page with Combat and Controls and Settings.

The campaign is seven chapters, 160-plus maps, about 30–50 hours, finishing near level 99–100. Monster levels and drops follow the map. See Leveling. An invented army composition (three warriors, two mages, one demon) is not in Steam news. Count what the client actually lets you summon.

Three talent trees around demons and skeletons

Official copy is only those summons. In practice the three trees will emphasize army size, army strength, and the caster’s own curses or auras — again, use in-game names. Fill one tree until a usable loop exists (summon, support, stay alive). Open a second tree when map-tied bosses delete your army and you need a different tool. Unlimited skill points over a long character is the 1.0 pitch. Hybrids mean mixing your three trees. See Talent Trees and Hybrid Builds.

Steam Deck skill panel: A adds one point, X maxes the selected skill, Y maxes the skill and its sub-skills.

Version 1.0 listed weapon-granted skills that include summoned creature accessories and summoned creature attacks with additional skills. That is the official vocabulary for how loot redirects a Necromancer, not a fan pet-item tier list. See Legendary Gear.

Gear, sets, and endgame

Each class has 15 armor sets, many of which alter skill forms. Fifteen Necromancer sets are how the army kit stays interesting for 160 maps. Evaluate drops for summon-related skill grants and set bonuses the client shows. This page will not invent Minion Damage / Minion Health affix names as if they were Steam stats. Armor Sets and Reforging and Enchanting cover customization that actually shipped.

Treasure Sprites pick up and salvage so you can recast instead of vacuuming the floor. Patch 1.0.1 increased fairy speed and fixed auto-salvage. Buff potions are a single button in 1.0. Gems and Shrines cover seventeen Blessing Shrines without invented names.

After the story, Greater Rifts (Normal through Inferno) improve rare odds and affix rolls. Socket runes, including talent skill runes and equipment skill runes that may interact with summons. At 100, climb Paragon. Inferno still kills a caster who stands in slams while the army is dead.

First hours

Hour one: create the character and learn whether you enjoy managing demons and skeletons on opening dungeon maps. If you want to swing dual blades yourself, roll Holy Warrior instead. Hours two to five: fill one tree until the army has a job. If summon play does not stick, a new save is the only class change you get.

Use the Chapter Walkthrough for biomes and Boss Strategies for telegraphs. Mystic Dungeon is a named store feature; do not invent modifier lists for it.

What this guide will not claim

  • No official 5+ skeleton cap.
  • No published Life Drain that heals minions instead of you.
  • No co-op aura stacking.
  • No premium summon slot shop.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about Shadow Dungeon.

How do Necromancer summons work in Shadow Dungeon?

Official copy says you summon demons and skeletons. Counts, durations, and cooldowns are in the client and the official Necromancer showcase. This wiki does not invent Raise Dead as a product name or a 3-2-1 army recipe.

What is the best Necromancer tree?

There is no official best tree. Fill one of your three demons-and-skeletons trees until a loop exists, then open a second tree when maps demand it.

Can I respec a Necromancer?

Yes. Patch 1.0.1 fixed pinnacle talents not clearing after a respec. You cannot change class. Paragon after 100 is extra attributes.

Did 1.0.1 fix minion pathing?

The published 1.0.1 list covers controllers, XP, fairies, UI, transformation skills, respec, and backpack sort. It does not mention minion navigation. Treat pathing complaints as player reports until OO Cat writes them down.

Where do I farm Necromancer gear?

Drops follow the map. Play current maps, then Greater Rifts after the story. Weapon-granted summon accessories are listed in the 1.0 notes as a loot type, not as a named farm boss.
